Our body can cleanse itself of unwanted waste substances thanks to the kidneys, liver, and a healthy immune system. However, the conventional means that typically do the cleansing may sometimes fall sick, leading to an accumulation of toxins. An advanced therapy known as EBOO can aid in the purification of the body and treatment of some diseases.
Get Better Health – Free Your Body of Toxins With EBOO Therapy
Blood is known to be the vital fluid in the body. It delivers oxygen and nutrients to all body parts for normal functioning. Blood also carries waste substances to the kidneys and liver to be removed from the body. This fluid also plays a role in keeping the body from being infected by viruses and bacteria.
Given the essential role of blood in the body, the healthcare communities have been working on designing a therapy that can help improve the quality of the blood, allowing the body to function correctly. This is when the ozone therapy, in which EBOO is the most advanced form, shows its tremendous beneficial results. So, what is it? And is it good for you?
What Is EBOO Therapy?
Standing for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation, EBOO therapy is a form of dialysis with ozonation. The blood is filtered and ozonated to remove the harmful substances, enhancing health and many other benefits. As an advanced form of ozone therapy, EBOO combines blood transfusion and ozonation-oxygenation, allowing ozonation of the entire blood volume in a single procedure. EBOO is primarily used in treating toxicity and infectious illnesses by neutralizing toxic substances and eliminating viruses and bacteria.
In infectious diseases, even after the viruses or bacteria are killed, the residual materials may be left from the infection and cause the patients to suffer from complications following the initial condition. These residual materials may include toxins, debris from dead pathogens, and even dead tissues. At this point, invasive treatment is necessary since our body’s conventional means, such as kidneys and liver, may not be able to get rid of these harmful substances completely.
How Does EBOO Therapy Work?
In EBOO therapy, blood is drawn from a vein and then passes through a filter (dialyzer), where it is ozonated. Blood is then reintroduced to the body through a different vein. This procedure allows the body to cleanse the blood from unwanted substances while ozonating the blood to increase the oxygen levels in the circulation. The duration of the whole process, including the preparation stage, should last within 2 hours. Each course requires up to 4 procedures performed once a week and repeated twice a year. It is important not to undergo EBOO more frequently than recommended to avoid the potential side effects.
What Are the Benefits of EBOO Therapy?
Due to its toxin-neutralizing, anti-infective, and hemodynamic effects, EBOO therapy can deliver the following benefits:
The International Society of Blood Purification recognizes EBOO as a therapy that can reduce the amount of virus in patients with chronic hepatitis. Hepatitis refers to inflammation of the liver. The liver is inflamed or damaged due to various causes, including excess alcohol use, toxins, certain medications, medical conditions, and viral infections. EBOO can also be beneficial in other infectious diseases, including Lyme disease.
Peripheral Artery Disease
According to a study involving 28 patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), EBOO therapy significantly improved skin damage and pain while causing no side effects or complications. The treatment also positively affected the patient’s well-being without any adverse arterial circulation changes.
Several cardiac surgeries with cardiopulmonary bypass have been performed, with EBOO being employed as part of the procedure. The benefits of EBOO in cardiac surgeries may be in line with that in peripheral artery disease due to improvement in vascularisation.
According to the International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy, other indications of EBOO therapy include:
- Cardiac ischemia
- Severe dyslipidemia
- Necrotizing fasciitis
- Severe bacterial infections that are resistant to antibiotics
- Ischemic stroke
- Chronic heart failure
- Acquired immune deficiency
- Chronic inflammatory processes
- Patients planning to undergo antiviral therapy medication
Who Should Get EBOO Therapy?
People with the conditions under the therapy indications or those requiring blood purification due to kidney and liver malfunction may undergo EBOO treatment. When visiting the center that provides the therapy, you should do a laboratory evaluation to make an accurate diagnosis before implementing the procedure. Your medical condition before and after the process should be examined comprehensively to assess the efficacy and side effects of the therapy. Most importantly, you must be well-versed in advance about the method, including all the steps of the procedure and the desired and possible unwanted effects. Please read the consent form carefully before signing if required.

Is EBOO Therapy Safe?
EBOO therapy is generally safe because the procedure is performed in a closed system, where the circulation is never exposed to the external environment. It means that the filtered and ozonated blood cannot be contaminated. During the EBOO procedure, your healthcare provider must keep your external (extracorporeal) blood volume within 200 mL to prevent any risk of blood flow instability. They should also maintain the temperature of your external blood at 37º C to avoid low body temperature (hypothermia).
EBOO treatment must be performed by a physician specializing in ozone therapy and EBOO procedures. The procedure of the EBOO also recommends having a specialized assistant or nurse, especially during the initial and the final stages. EBOO should be implemented only in centers with legal approvals to perform standard dialysis. According to the International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy, individuals with the following conditions are not allowed to undergo EBOO therapy:
- Uncompensated diabetes
- Recent acute myocardial infarction
- Uncompensated toxic hyperthyroidism
- Thrombocytopenia less than 50.000 and serious coagulation disorders
- Severe cardiovascular instability
- Acute alcohol intoxication
- Massive and acute hemorrhage
- During convulsive states
- Patients receiving treatment with copper or iron
An advanced therapy that can deliver a multitude of beneficial effects is on the horizon. EBOO is promising in treating many diseases once thought incurable or difficult to manage.
