PEPTIDE THERAPY: TESAMORELIN

What Is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is an FDA approved product which is used to treat low levels of Growth hormone. Like CJC 1295 and Sermorelin, it is a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog. GHRHs mimic the body’s signaling compounds to stimulate the release of Growth Hormone by the pituitary gland. Currently, Tesamorelin is the most effective GH releasing peptide on the market. As a result, Tesamorelin has been shown to have increased efficacy on several blood markers and displays efficacy more quickly than other options.

WHAT FORMS OF TESAMORELIN ARE AVAILABLE?

Tesamorelin is available as individually lyophilized vials which can be reconstituted for subcutaneous injection.

HOW DOES TESAMORELIN WORK?

The hypothalamus releases GHRH and stimulates the pituitary glands production of Growth Hormone (GH). As an analog of GHRH, Tesamorelin is able to stimulate the production of GH by the same mechanism. GH goes on to stimulate IGF-1 production in the liver. The resulting increased levels of GH and IGF-1 in the blood results in a variety of beneficial growth effects in tissues.

Why Would I Want to Use Tesamorelin?

Based on the literature, Tesamorelin has been shown to:
– Increases IGF-1
– Reduces triglycerides
– Reduces visceral adipose tissue (VAT)
– Reduces Carotid Intima Media Size (cIMT)
– Improves cognition in people over 60 years of age
